“How to Be Unshakable in a Time of Shaking!”
    Jesse Shamp, Nashville, TN

Let us be thankful, then, because we receive a Kingdom that cannot be shaken…” (Hebrews 12:28)

I love how the Bible says that we have received a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. We see so many things happening in the world around us today…light and darkness are clashing. Yet, we do not have to be moved by what we see, because God is with us! We so often need to be reminded that His angels and His glory are all around us.

I want to give you a few keys to overcoming the enemy’s tactics, in order to thrive with a spirit of victory in this season. I want to address some of the ways that we can rise above the turmoil and find peace in the midst of the storm.

Fight from a Place of Victory

It’s never my intention to draw too much attention to the enemy considering there are times where we can simply stand in the victory that Christ has supplied. However, there are times when we must speak and take authority as sons and daughters. I sense that many have endured great shaking in this season. I perceive much has been a demonic shaking, but I also feel many are on the verge of great breakthrough!

The lie that the enemy would have you believe is that you do not have authority. Never accept this lie, no matter your circumstances or what you are currently facing. You have absolute authority over the enemy! I’ve often heard it said that we do not fight to get victory, but we fight from victory because the victory that Jesus supplied at Calvary has become our victory! He spoiled every principality and power (Colossians 2:15). He caused us to be seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). You are seated above, in a place of victory. You are the head and not the tail!

The Power of Walking in Love

Paul said something powerful in 2 Corinthians: “When you forgive people for what they have done, I forgive them too. For when I forgive—if, indeed, I need to forgive anything—I do it in Christ’s presence because of you. In order to keep satan from getting the upper hand over us; for we know what his plans are” (2  Corinthians 2:10-11 Good News Translation).

The enemy’s plans are to deceive you into walking in unforgiveness because he knows that it’s bondage. There is something powerful about forgiveness that frees you from hurt and wounds, and causes you to walk in freedom. There is a reason that Jesus spoke so much about love, with the greatest commandment being to love our neighbors as ourselves. There is a power that is connected to love and walking in love. The Bible says that faith works by love (Galatians 5:6).

Lift up Your Shield of Faith

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23)

How do we guard our hearts? We guard them through what the Bible calls the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16). It is the shield of faith that quenches all the fiery darts of the enemy. It causes us to be shielded from thoughts that the enemy tries to hinder us with, demonic lies and manipulations that can come from others. We have to guard our hearts to protect the anointing that is within and at the same time, walk in grace and love!

“The Lord Shall Be Thy Confidence…”

The enemy wants to bring discouragement any way that he can. David said in Proverbs 3:26, “For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Confidence has everything to do with walking in authority. This is what David was meaning: the Lord will be our confidence, and we will not lose the place of authority He has given us.

The enemy works through situations, words and accusations to attempt to dismantle you of your confidence; to try to get you to stop walking in the authority that Christ has given you. What does discouragement do? It robs you of courage. I feel that so many have been in a place of discouragement, even hopelessness, and yet, God has not forgotten His promises in His Word on behalf of you, nor has He forgotten personal promises over your life and destiny.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize!

“We do not want you to become lazy, but to be like those who believe and are patient, and so receive what God has promised.” (Hebrews 6:12)

Sometimes we must remind ourselves to get our eyes back on what was promised. Sometimes we can grow weary in well-doing (Galatians 6:9). We can even be in a place of faith, yet we are lacking patience. God wants us to keep enduring for the promise. Whatever you are believing God for—whether it concerns ministry, your own business, your family, your finances—whatever area of influence God has called you to, I want to encourage you to keep going, keep pressing into what God has for you. Our heavenly Father wants us to contend for what is rightfully ours in the Kingdom! As God said to Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage” (Joshua 1:9).

I pray strength over those reading this word, that the presence of God would come upon you and that everything hindering you in your journey would be removed! May the God of peace go before you, in Jesus’ mighty name!
