“Tell My People to Get Ready for Heavy Rain” by Michael Van Vlymen, Carmel, IN Vision of the Storm Clouds with Provision Only a few days ago, I was standing in the front row before a service, talking with the Lord about what He would have me share that morning. As I prayed and watched, I saw a large heart appear before me. I felt that it was the Father’s heart. The message to me was quite clear. The Father was going to show His love for His children in the meeting. The morning session was fantastic and God’s presence was in that place. I heard many testimonies later that the Lord had really done something important in the lives of many. I was very blessed. A few hours later, I was again in the position of asking the Lord what He would have me share. This time the vision of a storm cloud appeared, dark and foreboding. “Oh! I don’t like that,” I thought. What is this? Trouble ahead? Storms and hard times? The Lord in His mercy and so very patient with me said, “No, this is a good thing. Tell My people to get ready for heavy rain.” I looked at the cloud again. It did look very full, almost like it was about to burst. The Lord told me how Heaven was about to release its supply to those who are Kingdom-minded. The provision would be full and complete and soon pour out for the glory and the work of the Lord. I released this word and began to share that the Lord is pouring out provision in this hour. A couple hours later, as the meeting continued, we began to hear thunder and lightning, and what was only moments earlier a clear sky, was now dark clouds that were releasing heavy rain. The Lord told me that this word was a word for all who are Kingdom-minded. This message of provision has been a common theme in my life lately with the Lord giving me dreams and visions that tell of blessing being poured out. I am excited for the Body! A Simple Instruction The Lord led me to 1st Kings chapter eighteen. In this well-known story, Elijah sent his servant out to look for the rain cloud which he knows by faith is coming. “Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back” (1 Kings 18:43 NIV). The Lord shared with me that people have grown so weary waiting for the promised blessing that they don’t even want to go out and look for the cloud anymore. He said to remind people of His faithfulness. If He has said it, will He not also do it? (See Numbers 23:19.) In the next verse, we see that what looks like “nothing” will soon bring forth the promise in such abundance that movement will not be possible. “The seventh time the servant reported, ‘A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.’ So Elijah said, ‘Go and tell Ahab, “Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you”‘” (1 Kings 18:44 NIV). Look a seventh time. Shake yourself and refuse to be weary. Go look again. What looks like nothing will soon yield what you have been waiting for. Look again, and position yourself for heavy rain.
