Something to Think About, Revival in America – George and Bonnie Delo
Psalm 36:1 (NKJV) An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: there is no fear of God before his eyes.
One of the greatest losses in America today is the loss of the fear of God both in our nation as well as in many of our churches. We have lost all honor and respect for God and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is to hate evil and to turn from wickedness. Instead, we have thrown truth in the streets, despised any semblance of righteousness and rejected all godly morality. We live in a culture where anything goes except Christian principles or the public acknowledgement of God. As the Psalmist said, the transgression of the wicked clearly says that he has no fear of God!
The result has been confusion, chaos, hatred, violence, corruption, division, and on and on. There is a total lack of respect for one another, a total disregard for authority, and a complete moral break down in every facet of society. And the church has gotten caught up in it all. Just this week a group of pastors got together to bless an abortion clinic going so far as to declare, “accessing and providing abortions are good and godly decisions.” In other words God thinks it’s great that we murder what He has created.
This nation needs wisdom and direction as never before. But the only way to get America back on track in a way that will make us a blessed nation is to return to God and look to Him for the answers. Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV) “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” We must humbly submit ourselves to God and restore Him to His rightful place, one nation UNDER God. Only God can heal our nation but only as we give Him the reverence, honor and respect He deserves. Only righteousness can exalt a nation.
Healing and restoration must begin with God’s people. The church must repent and turn from its wicked ways and pray as never before. The church must set the example by demonstrating the love of God, unity, humility, righteousness and peace. The voice of the church can only be restored in this nation when the people of God walk as Jesus walked.
The church must also return to the fulfillment of its divine purpose of taking the gospel to every creature. The wickedness we are seeing all around us is rooted in the hearts of unconverted sinners. The only way to change our nation is to change the hearts of its people. Jesus Christ died on the cross in order to cut off the uncircumcised heart, wash away all of the sin and pollution, and give us a new heart and a new spirit, a new divine nature of righteousness and holiness. We must sow the seed of the word and God will bring the increase.
Revival Prayer: Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Lord, forgive this nation for the disrespect, rebellion and even raging against You and Your Anointed One. Forgive us for rejecting Your name, Your word and prayer in our government, schools and businesses. Restore the fear of God in every facet of our nation that we would look unto you for all things. Restore Your fear in the hearts of the people that all would honor, revere, respect and submit to You. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
