“Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship (OUR CONVERSATIONS) is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.” (Paul)
In the early morning hours, I asked the Lord if He had a message for His church. The following vision unfolded:
VISION:
A single bed was shown. On the white sheets, a cell phone rested.
INTERPRETATION:
Because we understand things which are invisible by those things which are visible, the vision was immediately understood. (Rom. 1:20) Visibly, the bed invisibly symbolizes a place of rest for the Believer whereas the white of the sheets biblically represents righteousness. Visibly, the cell phone is a communicable device between the Speaker and another party. Invisibly, it is a confirmation that GOD our FATHER calls His faithful and righteous sons and daughters to converse and commune with Him so that He can seal His instructions in their hearts and minds. It is, in a way, reminiscent of Peter’s vision of the sheet that came down from heaven with corruptible creatures. Peter, biased with a particular mindset, did not want to partake of this food – this conservation – this communion – because he was unable to discern the power of GOD to override uncleanliness. But GOD persisted three times to show him that what HE made clean was clean. Peter finally got the message and obediently went on to answer the call and in the process exemplified how GOD can supernaturally converse with His chosen people on earth.
Back to the vision and the message it conveys. Within this context, rest and communion with GOD and the unclean Believer (for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD) is made clean through faith and belief in, and through the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. According to the tenets of the New Covenant, it is only by continually and obediently abiding in the perfect unblemished resurrected Lamb’s finished works that we can we rest in righteousness (the white sheet) and never of our own accord or merits because our righteousness is likened to filthy rags. GOD our FATHER, through the Holy Spirit, then reaches out to us through space and time and invisibly seals His instructions and laws in our hearts and minds. Often it is for the purpose of showing us flaws that keep us from progressing in the faith and growing into the stature of Christ; other times it can be for specific instructions.
NOTE: It should also be carefully noted that GOD can and will exceptionally override that New Covenant tenet, if HE sees fit to do so for His own reasons. Consider Paul who, while persecuting Christian, was called out and thunder bolted by the Lord on His way to Damascus. GOD does what He does the way HE sees fit for His reasons. Paul was a pattern of a New Covenant Believer who was made clean and righteous by the Lord and who as a chosen Apostle to the Gentiles received specific instructions from heaven. He is on record for having preached and written gospels that were not devised by man; he was taught by revelations through the Lord through the Holy Spirit. (Gal. 1:11-13) Note also that we are living in the latter days, the days of Joel 2:28, a prophetic time wherein GOD is pouring His Spirit on earth; gifts of the Holy Spirit will abound, handmaids, young and old men alike will have dreams, prophesy and have visions. Conversely, because the counterfeit is still at work until the time of fulfillment, it is also a time when many are falsely prophesying in unrighteousness. We are called to exercise discernment in all things.
“These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. “ (Paul)
The clarion call to return to the Lord in Spirit and in Truth reverberates through space and time. Will you answer the call to avoid distractions and to rest and commune with HIM? He wants your mind and He wants your heart.
