From the Desk of BCN Founder, Steve Shultz:
Late this morning, I received this email (below) from Bill Johnson (Senior Pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, CA), as he was flying over the Atlantic on the way home. (Photo: Steve Shultz)
I had posted an emergency prayer request to many of our intercessors to pray about the fire that was heading toward Bill and Beni Johnson’s home. They were given an emergency order to evacuate, as the Carr Fire was minutes away from their house and traveling at 50 miles an hour.
For those who haven’t heard, many in the Redding, California area were given evacuation orders just yesterday because this wildfire was spreading very fast!
I was initially alerted to this emergency situation by Kathie Walters and I’m grateful to her for telling me, so I could get the word out!
This prayer request went all over the world and Women on the Frontlines in Arizona prayed as a group DURING their conference.
God is good—ALL THE TIME!
Thank you all for your continued prayers for the wildfire in the Redding area!
Let’s pray as Bill Johnson mentions below:
“As you know, we need rain without lightning, which at this time of year is impossible. But obviously, not with God.”
Bless you all,

Steve,
Thank you so much for doing this (sending out prayer and intercession). I’m flying home from England right now, and am somewhere over the Atlantic. The first reports we heard about our neighborhood were devastating. My wife (Beni) had to evacuate. She was certain our house was lost because of where it burned, and the speed at which it spread.
But it looks like our home, and many around us, were spared. Several of our staff members received the news that their homes were destroyed as well. Each one that we know about so far has found that their homes were spared, even though others close to them were lost. One of our pastors homes was saved by a firefighter as the flames came to the house, but he didn’t allow it to do any damage beyond burning their fence, which is a remarkable accomplishment in this fire storm. We are thankful.
Because of the number of people who are a part of the Bethel family, it is likely we will hear some sad stories too. We are celebrating the victories of spared lives and homes, and serving with deep compassion with all those who suffered loss.
The outcry of intercession among the saints for us and our city has been quite remarkable. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
As you know, we need rain without lightning, which at this time of year is impossible. But obviously, not with God.
I should get home sometime tonight.
Again, thank you my friend.
