The report said that more than 40 of the facilities being reviewed are located in Ukraine.

Gabbard told the New York Post on Monday that her team is going to “identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain and what ‘research’ is being conducted to end dangerous gain-of-function research that threatens the health and wellbeing of the American people and the world.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the catastrophic global impact research on dangerous pathogens in biolabs can have,” Gabbard said. “Yet despite these obvious dangers, politicians, so-called health professionals, like Dr. Fauci, and entities within the Biden administration’s national security team lied to the American people about the existence of these US-funded and supported biolabs and threatened those who attempted to expose the truth.”
In May of 2024, the National Institute of Health Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak admitted to Congress that tax dollars funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, making viruses 10,000 times more infectious… Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

“We have a lot of things to discuss…” -President Donald Trump
[CBN News] President Trump is in China for a two-day summit with President Xi Jinping. The summit begins Thursday morning and runs through Friday. (Screengrab image: via Forbes video)
“We’re the two superpowers,” Trump told reporters as he departed the White House on Tuesday to fly to Beijing. “We’re the strongest nation on Earth in terms of military. China’s considered second.”
The president arrived in China’s capital at about 8 p.m. Beijing time, or 8 a.m. Eastern. He’s accompanied by a group of American business leaders, including Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Tesla and SpaceX’s Elon Musk.
The agenda will range from tariffs to artificial intelligence as President Trump also seeks to sign deals with China to buy more American soybeans, beef and aircraft, saying he’ll be talking with Xi about trade “more than anything else.”
He also wants to begin establishing a Board of Trade with China to address differences between the countries.
But the battle with Iran over the Strait of Hormuz is expected to come up as well because Beijing is a strong ally of the regime in Tehran.
Still, Trump said, “We have a lot of things to discuss. I wouldn’t say Iran is one of them, to be honest with you, because we have Iran very much under control.”
President Xi is also expected to bring up US military support for Taiwan. China is upset with the US for planning to sell weapons to the independent island nation because the Chinese communist regime wants to take over Taiwan and claim it as its own territory.
As the world’s leading chipmaker, Taiwan is a key to the AI race, and the US has reportedly imported more goods so far this year from Taiwan than China.
China’s abysmal record on human rights could also come up during the brief summit. President Trump has reportedly said he plans to address the issue of an imprisoned Chinese pastor named Ezra Jin Mingri. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

News Staff (May 13, 2026)
[NewsNation] The families of two Americans imprisoned in China have asked President Donald Trump to advocate for their release during his meeting with President Xi Jinping this week. Dawn Michelle Hunt and Nelson Wells Jr. have both been held in China for more than a decade, after Chinese authorities convicted them on drug charges. Their families say they were scammed into unknowingly carrying narcotics and that both have endured abuse in prison. Cynthia and Nelson Wells Sr., Wells’ parents, and Tim Hunt, Hunt’s brother, tell “Morning in America” that the fight for their release has never stopped. “She is in distress. She wants to come home. This has changed her life. Her mental outlook is, you know, is very poor, very weak,” Tim Hunt said. “She was a victim of a scam, and she’s paying the ultimate price. She’s given up so many years of her life that she’ll never be able to give back. Her health is in decline, and we just want her back home.”… Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here Click Here to read.

“Dr. Makary was uniquely destructive to the prolife movement. He attempted to place pro-abortion lawyers in key positions. He slow- walked a vitally necessary review of the abortion drug mifepristone. He used his discretion to approve a new abortion drug when the data shows it sends one in 10 women to the emergency room. He froze out prolife leaders and repeatedly stonewalled Congress.” -Sen. Josh Hawley
[WashingtonStand.com] Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty Makary resigned suddenly Tuesday. Officially, the White House claimed there was “no bad blood” between him and Trump, and that his departure was due to the “process at the FDA.” Makary oversaw the Trump administration’s review of a Biden-era rollback of safety guidelines for the use of the abortion drug mifepristone, and his departure comes as the administration faces increasing pressure over what pro-lifers see as deliberate delays in that review. (Screengrab image: via CBS News)
Makary’s resignation comes one day before he was scheduled to testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies with regard to the administration’s budget request for FY 2027.
For the past year, pro-life Republican senators have publicly criticized the Trump administration for perceived delays in reviewing the safety of mifepristone, the first pill of the chemical abortion regimen. Under rules promulgated by the Biden administration and left in place under the second Trump administration, abortion pills can be distributed through the mail, across state lines, with no in-person appointment required.
Without an in-person appointment, physicians cannot verify the unborn child’s gestational age or rule out an ectopic pregnancy, two conditions that can threaten the life of a woman who takes the abortion pill, to say nothing of the life of the child. The lax oversight has also enabled abusive boyfriends and traffickers to coerce women into abortions against their will.
In October 2025, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) lambasted the FDA’s “shocking” approval of “ANOTHER chemical abortion drug, when the evidence shows chemical abortion drugs are dangerous and even deadly for the mother. And of course 100% lethal to the child.”
In February 2026, Republican senators received a private briefing from Makary, only to leave more convinced than ever “that this safety study is a dead end,” as Hawley put it. “I just think that FDA is not serious about it. I don’t think that they’re proceeding with any sense of urgency whatsoever.”
When news of Makary’s resignation broke, Hawley called the news “welcome,” declaring that “Dr. He froze out prolife leaders and repeatedly stonewalled Congress.”
In recent weeks, the FDA also faced legal challenges to its chemical abortion stance. In early April, a federal judge in Louisiana gave the Trump administration a deadline to report on the progress of the review. On May 1, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued a decision that blocked the mailing of abortion drugs across state lines. The Supreme Court briefly placed that ruling on hold while it considered an appeal, and on Monday it extended that hold by a further three days, suggesting a ruling of some kind was imminent.
In the interim, Makary was pushed out, reportedly on the orders of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Until his ouster, Makary continued to work as if everything were normal, FDA staff said, with public appearances scheduled throughout the week.
President Trump had kind words for Makary after his resignation. In a Truth Social post, Trump praised his “great job at the FDA” and said “much was accomplished under his leadership. He was a hard worker, who was respected by all, and will go on to have an outstanding career in Medicine.” In remarks to the media, Trump said Makary was a “great guy” and “a great doctor, and he was having some difficulty, but he’s going to go on, and he’s going to do well.”
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that President Trump had “signed off on a plan to fire” Makary. When asked on Friday about Makary’s looming departure, Trump said, “I know nothing about it.”
The Journal suggested that “Trump recently became frustrated with Makary for not moving fast enough to approve flavored vapes and other nicotine products.” In February, Trump urged the FDA to approve fruit-flavored vapes from manufacturer Glas. Makary initially refused, worrying that blueberry- and mango-flavored vapes would encourage youth vaping. After pressure from Trump, he authorized the vapes.
More broadly, Makary’s tenure at the FDA made him few friends. He oversaw significant departures of longtime senior staff at the agency, and his leadership has provoked significant complaints from rank-and-file employees. Makary could survive such controversy while he had Trump’s backing, but without the support of Trump or Trump’s base, he had few allies left. “What a mess Makary turned out to be,” an anonymous Trump administration official griped to Fox News Digital earlier this month. His action and words convinced “every pro-life advocate their concerns are an afterthought.”
However, Makary’s temporary replacement is not likely to win the Trump administration any applause from pro-lifers.
FDA Deputy Commissioner for Food Kyle Diamantis will serve as acting commissioner after Makary’s departure. Late Tuesday, pro-life activists noted that Diamantis was formerly listed in court records as legal counsel for Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando. TWS located two of those legal opinions. In “Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando, Inc. v. MMB Properties,” Diamantis is named as an attorney for Planned Parenthood in court documents from October 5, 2015, February 23, 2017, and April 13, 2017, according to documents reviewed by TWS.
“We cannot allow someone who represented Planned Parenthood to oversee rules surrounding the deadly abortion pill mifepristone that has killed MILLIONS of babies,” insisted Live Action President and Founder Lila Rose. “@realDonaldTrump, we need a strong pro-life nominee to replace him IMMEDIATELY.” Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

“As part of the initiative, PayPal will waive processing fees for $1 billion of transactions—a value of approximately $30 million —for eligible American small businesses that are veteran-owned or engaged in farming, manufacturing, or technology.” -DOJ
[Newsbusters.org] “This Department of Justice is delivering on President Trump’s vow to root out illegal DEI from every corner of corporate America,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Tuesday, announcing a settlement with PayPal Inc. to resolve a fair lending investigation into a discriminatory investment program created for black and minority-owned businesses. (Image: Pexels)
“With this settlement, PayPal agrees that race and national origin should play no part in determining which small businesses deserve its investment and financial support,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said Tuesday.
In a press release, the Justice Department revealed the terms of the settlement, valued at about $30 million:
“The settlement requires PayPal to launch a new Small Business Initiative that excludes criteria based on race, national origin, or other protected characteristics.
“As part of the initiative, PayPal will waive processing fees for $1 billion of transactions—a value of approximately $30 million—for eligible American small businesses that are veteran-owned or engaged in farming, manufacturing, or technology.”
“PayPal announced the discriminatory Economic Opportunity Fund in 2020 to invest in black and minority-owned businesses. While the program gave a preference to businesses based on race, color, and national origin, it was not implemented to remediate any specific instances of past discrimination,” the release explains.
The Equal Credit Opportunity Act prohibits creditors from discriminating against credit applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, because an applicant receives income from a public assistance program, or because an applicant has in good faith exercised any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act. “Unbeknownst to parents, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been poisoning pupils’ minds around the country for years with its toxic curriculum. SPLC lesson plans on issues such as queer theory, white privilege, and anti-racism have supplanted traditional coursework in history, social studies, and other core classes—teaching children to view themselves and others through the lens of identity politics, and that America is forever stained by its original sin.” -Nicole Neily, Defending Education president
[DailySignal.com] The Southern Poverty Law Center has spread its woke activist agenda in education to at least 169 school districts in 42 states, according to a new report, and the impact of teachers unions helps explain this expansive influence. (Image: Created by Grok AI)
Learning for Justice, the SPLC’s education arm, promotes “social justice” activism, pushes racially divisive messaging, and advocates transgender ideology. The program, launched as “Teaching Tolerance” in the 1990s, dropped the emphasis on “tolerance” amid the Great Awokening in February 2021. Around that same time, the program removed its own impact statement from the website, which had previously bragged that “more than 500,000 educators” read its magazine, screened its films, visited its website, and used its curricula.
The parental rights group Defending Education exposed Learning for Justice’s broad influence in an exhaustive report Tuesday.
“Unbeknownst to parents, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been poisoning pupils’ minds around the country for years with its toxic curriculum,” Nicole Neily, the group’s president, told The Daily Signal. “SPLC lesson plans on issues such as queer theory, white privilege, and anti-racism have supplanted traditional coursework in history, social studies, and other core classes—teaching children to view themselves and others through the lens of identity politics, and that America is forever stained by its original sin.”
How did the SPLC spread its tentacles this far? America’s two largest teachers unions—the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers—help explain it, as does the American School Counselor Association.
“By promoting and integrating Learning for Justice content and standards into mental health programming and curricula, the teachers unions and ASCA are giving the far-left organization credibility,” Rhyen Staley, director of research at Defending Education, told The Daily Signal. “This is deeply troubling for a variety of reasons, especially since the SPLC has put parents on its ‘hate map’ for simply raising concerns with their local school districts.”
The SPLC gained its reputation by suing Ku Klux Klan groups into bankruptcy, but weaponized that history to smear conservatives and raise money. In 2023, it added Moms for Liberty, Defending Education, and other parental rights groups to the “hate map,” placing them alongside Klan chapters and calling them part of “the infrastructure upholding white supremacy.”
Last month, a federal grand jury indicted the SPLC on wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy charges for sending $3 million to KKK members. While the SPLC claimed it was paying “informants” to prevent violent attacks, the Justice Department says it was using donor cash to prop up the very “hate” it claims it exists to “dismantle.” The SPLC has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The SPLC enjoys undue influence in the media, in corporate America, and with a vast network of donors, so it stands to reason that Learning for Justice might achieve a broad impact. Even so, the boost from teachers unions and the American School Counselor Association can’t have hurt.
The Teachers Unions
The Defending Education report cites the National Education Association’s January 2021 “Racial Justice in Education” resource guide, which touts Teaching Tolerance as a “partner” and notes that the NEA partnered with Teaching Tolerance to “create a three-part webinar series” to help “address the climate issues.” The National Education Association claims 3 million members.
The association’s President Becky Pringle condemned the SPLC indictment.
“Civil rights organizations work to ensure we can live free from discrimination,” she wrote on Bluesky. “By indicting a group that fights bias and tracks extremists, Trump’s Department of Justice is abusing its power, making us less safe. They will stop at nothing to crush free speech and further hate.”
The National Education Association did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment by publication time.
The American Federation of Teachers has promoted the SPLC program as far back as 2016, listing “Teaching Tolerance” as a resource on “school discipline.”
In a social media post, the federation’s President Randi Weingarten also condemned the indictment.
“It’s absurd but predictable [the SPLC] is being wrongfully targeted, an org that has documented hate & extremist groups for 50+ years,” she posted on Bluesky. She called the indictment “part of a coordinated attack on civil rights and an escalation of the campaign against those with whom this admin disagrees.”
The American Federation of Teachers has approximately 1.6 million members.
These unions, which have a well-documented leftist slant, enjoyed tremendous influence in the Biden administration.
The American Federation of Teachers did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment by publication time.
The School Counselors
The Defending Education report also noted that the American School Counselor Association, which claimed in 2023 to have over 43,000 members across the country, incorporated the “Social Justice Standards” into its key documents. (Image: iStock -Phynart Studio)
The association modeled its Student Standards: Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success and Student Standards Crosswalk on the SPLC materials.
Neither the NEA nor the AFT nor the ASCA nor the SPLC responded to The Daily Signal’s request for comment by publication time.

A Rising Movement
Moms and dads across the country are taking a stand against the SPLC.
Republicans in Maryland have openly condemned the state’s “implicit bias training” that incorporated Learning for Justice materials. Courage is a Habit has exposed ASCA’s reliance on the SPLC. Lake Havasu Unified School District in Arizona has rooted out an education resource that directed students to avoid the websites of SPLC-smeared “hate groups.”
Last week, Moms for Liberty leader Rosalind Hanson spoke out at Montgomery County Public Schools, condemning MCPS’ use of the Social Justice Standards.
This Defending Education report will hopefully inspire more moms and dads to ask school boards to stop relying on the SPLC. They may find my book, “Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center,” a resource in this effort. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

…In the end, the list of things Ardu Bash believed his people would need in order to give up most of their herds and settle beside their Christian neighbors in peace was relatively short and clearly defined. The needs he identified were water, particularly wells, education, solar power, and possibly crossbreeding cattle so they would yield more milk. With more productive cattle, the Fulani could become ranchers and survive with smaller herds.
[TheGatewayPundit.com] In Dnata Chiefdom, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna State, a Christian king reigns over a largely Fulani Muslim population. This is significant because the Fulani are nomadic herders known for attacks on Christian communities. Christians are understandably outraged by the murders and kidnappings, but preventing the situation from escalating into a religious war requires remembering that not every member of an ethnic or religious group thinks the same way or wants the same things. (Image: iStock-naruedom)
At the palace of His Royal Highness Amb. Dr. Engr. Bitrus James Abwaminajeyi, American missionaries from The Palace Alliance were told they were the first foreigners to meet with the Fulani Ardus (chiefs) and the first Christians to pray a Christian prayer with them. The king had been called away to a state meeting, so the prince represented him, saying the Ardus were grateful for the visit. “It makes them feel that they are loved and their concerns are being heard.”
…
Another Ardu explained, “One of our major concerns as preachers is that sometimes we are not able to reach the people we are supposed to preach peace to because of the lack of transportation. We desire that our political leaders would join forces with preachers, whether from the Muslim side or the Christian side, to help bring about peace in Nigeria.”… Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
