BE STILL MY SOUL, AWAKEN MY HEART. – Ron McGatlin
ONE WITH GOD CONSUMED IN LOVE
Stop striving or even trying to get to God. Our soul’s effort to have a personal one-on-one in love relationship with God is always less than successful. How then can it ever be that you can truly become one consumed in love, one with God?
The nature of the human soul (mind, will, and emotions) is to do something or give something to gain the desired thing or goal. That is to pay a price to gain it. This allows the soul to remain in charge of and over the situation. If the soul pays for it, the soul owns it. Selah.
The soul’s first priority is to stay alive, and it sees turning control over to the Spirit/heart as the end of its control over life. The soul may actually be working against your becoming one with God. Total surrender to God would mean that your soul is under the rule of Spirit God in your HEART. When the Spirit/heart arises with spiritual and supernatural life of God the soul cries out, “Wait a minute, is this right? Let me check this out before we allow this!”
Yet our Spirit, Soul and body thirst for the fresh waters of Spirit God, refreshing and sustaining our life on earth. However, the soul fears and refuses to step back and accept the heart/Spirit’s uncontrolled movement in our lives.
A living communion with Almighty God is a HEART matter and not a work of the soul. The entire price for all things is fully paid in Christ Jesus, who is our new life. The soul will come into order only after the love of God fully overcomes our entire being from the heart/Spirit.
Isaiah 55:1, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
God is saying you alone have nothing worthy enough; you have no money. It is Spirit Christ Jesus in our hearts that is worthy of it all.
Our soul will be satisfied once we have followed the cry of “HO!” or STOP!, and come to the flowing life of provision from God in Christ by the Spirit. Our soul stops fighting against our heart/Spirit. It stops trying to keep us busy with work or tied to the TV and telephone, and comes into full agreement when the abounding love and provisions of God are fully experienced.
It is at this point that our one-on-one love communion becomes a living 24/7 relationship. Our soul and heart melt together in God’s presence. All that we do and all that we are all of the time is in love with God. All life is viewed by the Spirit’s eyes and ears within our hearts.
Isaiha 55:2, “Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3 Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.
LIVING FROM THE HEART/SPIRIT
As we experience life on earth in this covenant, we not only see and hear the natural life before us, but we also see and hear, or sometimes more like feel, the deeper spiritual reality behind the natural. We know in our hearts much more than natural hearing and seeing. We simply know things that are received by the Heart or Spirit behind or beyond what is heard or seen by natural eyes and ears.
We do not move into situations and relationships based on natural understanding alone. Sometimes we may feel something but are not fully aware of what is going on or what to do. The wonderful thing is that we can ask God, and He is always there to answer.
Ask God, “What do you want me to know about this situation?” When you know what He wants you to know, ask Him, “What do you want me to do about it?” In love, speak or do as God directs without hesitation or reservation.
Even while living from the heart/Spirit, your soul, which may not yet be fully retrained, may try to jump in with warnings about potential social or personal offenses or loss. Do not pause to consider or modify what God has said. God will make it work as it should. God/Love in us can speak in such a way that truth can be received without offense. God’s words and ways can never be improved by soulish social editing.
THE TIME OF TRANSITION AND TRANSFORMATION
This time of transition is the time to seek the Lord in your heart/Spirit. He will be found now to transform us from seeking Him with our souls to finding Him with our hearts/Spirits in all-consuming love.
Isaiha 55:6, “Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near.”
This is the time to transition from our ways of filling our lives with self-directed, natural means of provision and soulish pleasures of natural life, to the life and ways of the kingdom of God and His provision of abundant life with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Isiaha 55:7-9, “Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
HEARING GOD IN COMMUNION
The spiritual reality of receiving the specific word of God for any situation in supernatural communion is more real than natural knowledge. Communing with God is greater than reading the written word. There is direct guidance for the specific situation from Spirit God, who has all knowledge and wisdom. His spoken or Spirit-implanted word never contradicts His written word. However, it often clears up the meaning of the written word in our minds/souls.
God’s word spoken to us aligns us with all nature. We are blessed by that which God has provided in natural earth, and we are a great blessing to nature as we work in harmony on earth with all that God is doing and has done. Peace and order come to all of the natural creation in perfect harmony with God. Love filling the earth is joy and peace beyond our comprehension.
Isaiha 55:10-11, “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
THE MYSTERY OF SPIRIT REALITY LIFE NOW
These provisions of this blessed life of peace and joy in harmony are first in us as we live and walk in the harmony and communion in the Spirit. It must be in us first and then through us into the world. This is the work of God by Spirit Christ Jesus within us, redeeming and restoring the world to the kingdom of God/kingdom of heaven.
Isaiha 55:12-13, “For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
This is a clear symbolic picture of the transformation that has now begun in this world.
Living in communion with God in love and walking in the Spirit takes us to a place of living now in the fullness of peace, love, joy and the fruitfulness of an abundant life in the Spirit that will change the world around us.
STOP, and come to the flowing life of provision from God in Christ by the Spirit. It is paid for and provided by Christ Jesus in Holy Spirit God for now and forever.
Christ Jesus is alive in us now. We don’t need to keep looking for provisions and life here or there. Within us, He can go into all the world, in business, work, school, or on the farm, in the forest, on the plains, in the mountains, on the ocean, or in the city. We have no need for games or fake videos, mindless television or endless videos designed to steal our lives away from the real life of communion with God in life, fulfilling, exciting, real experiences of heaven coming to earth.
Life is full, worship is continual with thanks in our hearts that satisfies our spirit, soul, and body in the LOVE/kingdom of God. His kingdom is above and beyond all else in the fulfillment of life. It is living water of life flowing from the fountain of love in the Spirit God within us.
His love never fails and,
His kingdom never ends!
