Awesome Progress In La Colonia,

Chirripó Valley, Costa Rica

Above is the Chirripó Valley. The arrow points to buildings and fields at our destination, La Colonia in the Cabécar Nation.
The river is swift and deep, so we must cross in this “basket” on a cable.  My long-time good friend, Pastor Marcelo is keeping me safe. “Don’t grab the cable. Keep your fingers out of the pulleys.”
There was a mare waiting on the other side of the river to carry me to the village. Above / right is the newly remodeled La Colonia church / conference center building where we will hold conferences to train leaders, married couples, and believers from the remotest parts of the Cabécar Nation.
I preach and teach in Spanish and Marcelo translates to Cabécar. The Cabécar language is nothing like Spanish or English. The church is already full and we are super excited that so many young people are getting saved. Most of the young people speak both Spanish and Cabécar.

La Colonia Conference Center

Phase Two

Above is building #2 (phase 2) construction in progress.  We will use it for smaller meetings, as a dining hall, and sleeping quarters for visiting teams.  It has/will have a kitchen, bathrooms and the only septic system in La Colonia. Pastor Ricardo is really proud of that!
The red wall is where the shower and bathrooms with flush toilets will be. At right is the septic system. Pastor Ricardo is really proud to have the only septic system in his village.
We accomplished all this with the help and generosity of Rich Harvest International partners. The budget for phase one was $10,000.00. We received $7,500.00 so there is roughly $2,500.00 still outstanding.

Pastor Carlos estimates that it will take an additional $5,000.00 to finish phase two which includes the bathrooms, kitchen, dining hall, and rustic benches.

In addition, I told Ricardo, pastor at La Colonia, that I would buy him a much needed horse.  I can get a horse, new tack, and saddle for about $1000.00. So, the challenge is:

$2,500.00 Phase 1 outstanding budget

$5,000.00 Phase 2 Building budget

$1,000.00 Horse and tack for Pastor Ricardo

These monies are in addition to the ongoing operating expenses of Rich Harvest International. With your help we are making it happen. Please consider helping meet this challenge.
