Esther: Contending For Your Family
I was part of a conference where a mother and daughter were sharing the pain in their lives and journeys – ways a “Haman” was ravaging their family — and I felt like they were a prophetic picture of Esther, in a sense.
The mother was sharing that in a 3 month period she committed adultery, her husband was involved in homosexuality and died of aids and her 18 year old son was killed in a car accident. During that time her daughter was involved in prostitution and the other daughter was involved in a lesbian relationship. Her life was in devastation all around her as a Christian.
All of a sudden “Haman” was coming to kill her seed, coming to take out her husband, coming to take her son, and steal her two daughters. That anti-Christ spirit was saying, “Yes, I’m coming for the redeemed and I’m coming for your children … I’m coming for your husband … I’m coming to take you out, rob you, kill you, and destroy your family.” What should she do? You may identify with ways that a “Haman” is attacking or destroying your family too … and what should you do?
Position Yourself for Battle
As she came to the Lord and started to pray, she positioned herself like a Queen Esther and she started to move in prophetic intercession, “Lord! I cry out to You and I am saying NO MORE!!! I cry out to You and say that THIS IS ENOUGH! I take a stand that my family, my seed and I will live!” She interceded and prayed, asking for prophetic strategies on how to get the enemy out of her family’s lives where there had been generational strongholds of sexual perversion, brokenness, pain and sin.
We can ask the Lord to show each of us how to get the “Haman” out of our blood lines and break the generational curses so He can start to bring the freedom of Jesus into our families!! You see, God is calling us to stand and be able to say, “No more! That is enough! God is in the land!!”
