“Opening Portals in 2021”
Danielle Dixon, Queensland, Australia

I felt prompted to share what the Lord has been showing me over the past month about opening portals.

First, the Lord wanted to remind us of a few things: There will be an end-time harvest and we are fast approaching the Kingdom Age. God is transforming His Church into a governing body, “The Ecclesia.” As we are entering the Kingdom Age, our old mindsets about the Church will be replaced with Kingdom culture. Many growing pains have been experienced over 2020; nevertheless, it does not diminish the Church’s importance or power right now.

Stay Focused on the Kingdom

We are being challenged, at present, with the way we have viewed and valued the intrinsic and extrinsic structure of the Church. The intrinsic structure of a building has to do with how the rooms, halls and staircases are connect to each other. The extrinsic structure is how these rooms, halls and staircases sit concerning the outside world. How we connect with one another inside the Body and how we connect with the outside world is very important in this season.

I believe the Lord is telling us to stay focused on the Kingdom during all the disappointment and “doom and gloom.” Nothing changes the timelines of God – not politics, economic markets or popularity poles. God’s timelines were established before the foundations of the world.

“But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).

As I was pondering over these significant changes that are taking place, coupled with the Lord’s glorious plan for the Body of Christ, I heard the Lord say, “Pray for heavenly portals to be open.”

What Is a Portal?

Let’s establish what a portal is. A portal is a doorway or entry point into Heaven, opening upon Earth, which causes a noted increase in angelic activity and heavenly encounters. According to the Bible, it is an opening which angels can come and go through without demonic interference. God designed portals to be opened in the third Heaven, traveled through in the second heaven, and have an entry point on the earth, making Heaven accessible to mankind. (Photo via Pixabay)

Like anything that God does, He is always partnering with mankind. So, what is our part in seeing portals open? Firstly, He said to pray, asking God to open them, then start decreeing open portals over our lives, regions, and nations. Then we are to command them to stay open, commissioning angels to wage warfare against anything that tries to close what God has opened. Scripture says that the doors our God opens, no one can close (see Revelation 3:7).

Then the Holy Spirit led me to revisit Scriptures pertaining to portals in the Word of God from a fresh 2021 perspective. Let’s look at the first familiar account of an open portal.

“He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to Heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the Lord (in Heaven), and He said:

“‘I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on Earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.’

“When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, ‘Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.’ He was afraid and said, ‘How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of Heaven.’ (Genesis 28:12-17, emphasis mine)

Jacob had his spiritual eyes opened to see this portal where angels were ascending and descending on assignment. Also, it was a place of encounter and a place of revelation.

Standing in the Doorway

The Bible says that God was standing in the “gate” or doorway (Genesis 28:13), so God was looking down the portal from the third Heaven. He was visible to Jacob and He could communicate with him. It is mentioned over and over again in Scripture that certain people were transported into Heaven; among these are Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Jesus, and Paul. This was done through portals.

People are still being transported, today, into Heaven. A door (portal) in Heaven was opened for John in the new covenant to receive the revelation of Jesus Christ. John explained in Revelation: “After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in Heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this'” (Revelation 4:1). John was told to “come up here,” but how was he meant to do that? Through a portal. The door was open with an invitation to “come up here.”

Where Is the House of God?

“He then added, ‘Very truly I tell you, you will see “Heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on” the Son of Man.'” (John 1:51)

Previously, we read about Jacob’s encounter where the angels were ascending and descending upon a geographical area called “Bethel,” which means “House of God.” Here, Jesus was saying that the angels were ascending and descending upon Him! That’s the difference Jesus brought with Him – a new dimension of portals. Portals would no longer be something limited to one place only; they would become something that could be opened over a man’s life. (Photo via Pikist)

Who is the house of God today? It’s the Church – we are to be the door of Heaven. We are the ones that God wants to open up portals over. The purpose of Jesus’ coming to Earth was for us to carry an open Heaven, opening portals wherever we go.

Portals Are Open Over My Life!

I believe God wants to open portals in 2021 – portals of provision, revelation, creativity, evangelism, restoration, and healing over our lives. He wants us to start declaring, “Portals are opened over my life.”

The enemy has tried to attack our finances in 2020. What does a portal of provision look like? “Yet He gave a command to the skies above and opened the doors of the heavens; He rained down manna for the people to eat, He gave them the grain of Heaven” (Psalm 78:23-24). This was a portal of provision. The manna came from Heaven and fed the Israelites in the wilderness.

What about the promise given in Malachi 3:10? “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.'” Sounds like a portal to me! The windows of Heaven being open over our lives through a lifestyle of giving.

The purpose of this word is to remind us that we are not alone. The battle belongs to the Lord and there are more for us than there are against us. God is not sitting back and letting the devil run the show, but He is asking us to pray, use our authority, and be expectant.
