This past Thursday our Transformation Omaha Team had a teleconference call with Troy Martinez from Las Vegas. This connection was discovered for us through the assistance and help of Dr. Chip Anderson from Christ for the Cities here in Omaha that also has a base in Las Vegas.
Troy shared with us for nearly 90 minutes on where crime was in Vegas back in 2005 and where it is today – with amazing results. He has worked to significantly change the laws regarding human trafficking from a mere $150 fine to the possibility of life in prison. He is the leader of the 120 faith based Mayor’s initiative working with areas of addictions, gangs, homelessness, strengthening the family, joblessness, recovery supports and many others – along with being a pastor of a larger growing church he has personally met with and prayed with both our vice president and president and continues to help other cities around the nation. Troy is an unsung hero and providing valuable resources and strategies for many including us here in Omaha.

ne area in our city that needs attention. Troy and his team are able to help us in multiple areas and see incredible results happen quickly that they had to learn about over a decade. To give you an example, there are nine police precincts in Las Vegas and one of them covered 3 square miles and with major crimes such as murder they had 0% solving and convictions. With the help of Troy’s ministry and influence that area now has 85% and the crime reduction in 300 square miles of Las Vegas has been greatly reduced.
Transformation Omaha is bringing marketplace leaders and ministry leaders together to make a difference in the lives of those in our city. We are already blessed to have numerous mayors, police chiefs, local and state politicians and many business leaders sharing in an interest in what we are currently working on and proposing. We have linked with ONEHOP to pray twice a month for the city with marketplace and ministry leaders who can attend, along with the North Omaha Village Prayer Time and now several others that are emerging. We are young and still crawling, yet we are gaining support and have some momentum. We are working on two primary areas including physical transformation and spiritual transformation.
Along with this I am working now with All America, having just been invited to Washington DC for a strategic meeting with 60 top leaders from the seven spheres of influence, including many that you would know or have heard of. It was a great learning experience and I believe it will change the course of destiny for our nation. When you begin to hear of All America, I encourage you to jump on board and get involved. This is not another set of meetings, but true discipleship coupled with a God plan of evangelism to turn our nation back to God in four to six years. It is comprehensive, well thought out including the use of technology that is available today that we did not have in recent years. There is too much to explain here, but it has the making to do something significant in our country
And those of us working on Transformation Omaha believe the same for Omaha and are blessed and honored in the calling that we have been afforded.
Each week I am meeting with multiple pastors and business leaders to share the vision. Last week I had the opportunity to meet with ten business leaders all at once to share the vision, and several of them jumped on board immediately. If you are in the Omaha area and have business friends who would be wiling to meet with me for 60 minutes, I can easily share with them and jump start them in the process. As our city changes, the atmosphere in our churches will change too.
Jeremiah 29:7 – “Pursue the well-being of the city I have brought you to. Pray to the LORD on its behalf, for when it thrives, you will thrive.”
God loves nations but He also loves cities, as much of the New Testament was written to those living in various cities. He especially loves people, who for the most part live in cities, towns, and villages.
Transformation Omaha is different because it is spiritual without being religious. The goal is to bring business leaders and pastors together to truly make a lasting impact with great influence in our city and region. Our desire is to be empowering without being overpowering, contagious without being infectious, revolutionary without being rebellious, while simultaneously being death-defying and life-giving.
