The Chosen Generation
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
Every child of God that now is, or is to come, has been chosen. We are a chosen generation, fashioned by God for HIS pleasure and joy; a royal priesthood whose sole purpose is to love and serve the King in this hour – to serve His will, His purposes and His agenda. This generation has been chosen for this notable season of history, handpicked by God!
God knew us from before time. Our core identity is “CHOSEN IN CHRIST”! We are not just chosen; we are chosen in Christ! Our core identity is also that we are spirit, we are eternal and we are being conformed to the Blueprint that is Christ.
Formed by Christ
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)
God is saying, in essence, “Jeremiah, I knew you before you were in your mother’s womb, and I have ordained you to SERVE ME!”
The word formed is the Hebrew word yatsar and means “to form” and “fashion” (“through the squeezing into shape”). It speaks “of human activity” – “of a potter who forms out of clay a vessel” (see Strong’s Concordance). If God formed us, knew us before time, called us forth into time and ordained destiny for us, then all that we can say in response is a resounding, “THY WILL BE DONE!” That’s all that is needed!
The Key to Everything Else
To seek first the Kingdom (which is to seek His will) causes everything to then fall into place as it is centered in His will. His vision for our lives then becomes larger than life to us. It should occupy the whole purpose of our existence as our lives are gathered into it. (Photo via Pixabay)
In the Bible, the prophets and patriarchs were like flames of fire because they saw something that changed them. They came into God’s purpose for their existence! The saints of Scripture knew why they had an existence; they were a chosen people! They were chosen to be witnesses of the one true God, to represent Him on Earth and to do His will.
God has invested in our purpose and our destiny. He works everything toward bringing Christ forth in us, revealing Him through us. God’s heavenly system ruling over all is perpetually being upheld by the WILL OF GOD. God’s antenna, therefore, is highly tuned to the prayers and intercessions from His people that are in harmony and alignment with His will. For example, if we were created as royalty, He will not help us to stay comfortable in a poverty mentality. If His intention for our lives is to have us positioned within a certain sphere, we will not find peace until we are where we belong.
Back to the Original Blueprint
When things have gotten off course in our lives and out of His divine order, we (the created) must ask the Creator (the Manufacturer) to RESET THE DESIGN and bring it back to the original blueprint – His original intention. God has built His House – that is you! The house is blueprinted; you are blueprinted! He doesn’t want us to make additions, subtractions or extractions because of fear or unbelief.
When our lives are centered in God’s will, and we seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, everything is then added that is necessary for our call and purpose on Earth! He will then also include the desires of our hearts that are aligned to His will!
When taking this stance in life, we will then fully know that we are chosen. We will understand the reason for our existence and the dynamics of our call. We will be given the eyes to see and comprehend His will and His directives. When our lives are built on the right God-ordained foundation, they are then structured according to HIS WILL. Everything will flow in the right direction…precept upon precept.
Galatians 2:20 – Ground Zero
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Galatians 2:20 is to be the ground zero of our lives. If this is our foundation, it will no longer be “I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” We can then add to this “THY WILL BE DONE” (see Matthew 6:10). I believe God is saying that His people must get back to ground zero, living the crucified life. When we pray, “Thy will be done,” we are asking God for a reset. He will then set us back to the Manufacturer’s original blueprint and establish us on Galatians 2:20! As we are built on the right foundation, God wills in us to do His good pleasure and says, “Go therefore” (see Philippians 2:13; Matthew 28:19).
The path before you has been ordained. The path is given and set according to your blueprint. It is different for everyone, so we don’t need to compare. In finding His will, the thing that you think you love will begin to fade as the original blueprint begins to take hold in your life.
Wait and See!
God’s way will cost! Are you willing to give up your will, your ideas and the life you have mapped out? Are you willing to give it up for Him? When we do, God’s promise to us will be Isaiah 64:4 and 1 Corinthians 2:9: Eye has not seen or ear heard what He has prepared for those who love Him and who wait for Him! WAIT AND SEE! Our plan is not better than His. We may think our plan is safe, but no one is safe outside of His will. The path may not be easy, but it will be worth it! You will discover the true you – the original blueprint of you. You will discover new gifts and new possibilities!
When Jesus said to Nathaniel, “Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile” (John 1:47), He was essentially saying, “I saw you! I know you!” When we recognize God’s depth of understanding of who we are and what we are capable of, we are humbled in His presence. He has the blueprint! (Photo via Pixabay)
Sold Out to His Will
The kind of person we have been discussing (one who is sold out to God’s will) needs to come forth now in this hour. God needs you to be who He created you to be. He needs you to be where you are supposed to be. He needs you to have what you need to have to get the job done.
To get to our core identity, we must cut away at all the additions, put back all the subtractions and get rid of all the nonessentials. Everything then falls into place and comes forth by becoming rightly aligned to His will. Let’s get back to ground zero. The times require us to take the leap of faith.
Paul understood what it meant and how to live in the center of God’s will:
“…I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11-13)
This passage reveals the path of living the life of “Thy will be done”! Can we say yes to Him – yes to His will?
Living Out Our Identity
Jesus is Lord! He is saying to us, “I know you and I love you; I have always known you – you are Mine!” He has given us the ultimate PRAYER OF ALL PRAYERS – a prayer that we can use as a template for all our prayers. Jesus Himself prayed this prayer in the garden: “…yet not My will, but Yours be done” (see Luke 22:42).
God’s mandate for living out our core identity is the Lord’s prayer. It is the prayer to reset our identity to live out our blueprint.
“So He said to them, ‘When you pray, say: Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.'” (Luke 11:2)
