“Using the same types of models utilized by the previous administrations and climate change zealots, EPA now finds that even if the US were to eliminate all GHG emissions from all vehicles, there would be no material impact on global climate indicators through 2100.”

[DailySignal.com] It’s hard to wrap your head around the massive news President Donald Trump and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin announced Thursday. (Official White House Photo by Daniel Torok /US Government Work-Public)

Trump and Zeldin estimated that the EPA will save taxpayers over $1.3 trillion by eliminating the 2009 Greenhouse Gas Endangerment Finding, which served as the bedrock for a host of greenhouse gas emissions standards for vehicles in model years 2012 to 2027.

The Clean Air Act of 1970 directed the EPA to regulate “any air pollutant” that could “endanger public health or welfare.”

In 2006, Massachusetts and 11 other states sued the agency, demanding that it regulate greenhouse gas emissions on the theory that the emissions contribute to climate change and therefore endanger public health. The Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that the EPA must consider “whether greenhouse gas emissions contribute to climate change,” and the Obama administration issued the Endangerment Finding in 2009.

Trump and Zeldin gave two strong reasons for reversing course on the finding.

The Climate Data

They noted that the climate alarmist predictions of harm from the burning of fossil fuels “did not materialize.”

“Using the same types of models utilized by the previous administrations and climate change zealots, EPA now finds that even if the US were to eliminate all GHG emissions from all vehicles, there would be no material impact on global climate indicators through 2100,” the agency’s press release notes.

Indeed, various studies have shown that the burning of fossil fuels does not pose the existential threat that alarmists have repeatedly claimed. Climate models from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change significantly overestimated warming trends, in part because they neglect to consider natural factors that play substantial roles in climate variability.

Contrary to alarmist claims, climate change is not making hurricanes worse. Historical records of major river systems reveal patterns of variability, rather than consistent trends linked to human emissions. Furthermore, moderate warming and elevated carbon emissions can yield net benefits, such as reducing cold-related mortality and extending growing seasons.

The Endangerment Finding Was Illegal

Trump and Zeldin also weighed the legal foundation of the Endangerment Finding and found it wanting.

Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act “does not provide statutory authority for EPA to prescribe motor vehicle and engine emission standards in the manner previously utilized, including for the purpose of addressing global climate change,” the press release argues.

“A policy decision of this magnitude, which carries sweeping economic and policy consequences, lies solely with Congress.”

A Huge Blow to the Climate Industrial Complex

Climate activists have long used the federal bureaucracy to push their agenda, often circumventing Congress.

As I describe in “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government,” climate alarmist groups fed staff and ideas into the Biden administration, pulling the levers of power while the president was asleep at the wheel.

The EPA is often ground zero for this grift. Climate groups would sue the EPA, claiming that it did not regulate enough of the economy. EPA staff, who largely supported the regulation, would settle the lawsuits, agreeing to implement the alarmist policy and pay the activist group in a settlement.

Under Biden, the EPA managed the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, a $27 billion fund administered through CitiBank as part of the so-called Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The EPA rushed $20 billion to eight nonprofit groups after Trump won the 2024 presidential election. Zeldin has fought to claw back some of this money, and he confronted left-leaning journalists for repeatedly claiming that he had no evidence of waste, fraud, or abuse.

A Win for Affordability

Democrats talk a great deal about “affordability,” but they seem not to be concerned about how regulating oil and gas makes travel, electricity, and goods and services more expensive.

According to the Energy Information Administration, 60% of American energy comes from fossil fuels, with 18.6% coming from nuclear energy and another 21.4% from wind, hydropower, and solar.

As the federal government drops restrictions on the largest sources of energy in the country, that won’t just make it cheaper for you to fill up your gas tank—it will also decrease the cost of transporting goods and services, and it will decrease the cost of energy production, in general.

Meanwhile, fewer government handouts for “clean energy” companies also means one less driver of inflation.

The market will adjust for more companies to meet consumer demand, and if solar and wind truly are the way of the future, they should be able to compete on a level playing field.

Trump’s all-of-the-above energy strategy will likely make Americans wealthier and give us more options for how to spend our money. Repealing the Endangerment Finding will spread positive ripple effects throughout the economy, and I, for one, am excited about what the future holds. “Inflation fell to the lowest level since May and key items such as food, gas and rent are cooling off. This will provide much needed relief for middle class and moderate-income families.” -Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union

[Newsbusters.org] Consumer prices defied naysayers in January as increases came in below analysts’ predictions, according to Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released Friday by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). (Image: Pixabay)

Both the overall CPI and its “core” component, which excludes the volatile food and energy sectors, mostly came in either below, or at, analysts’ expectations:

  • Year-Over-Year: 2.4%, down from 2.7% in December and below 2.5% expectations.
  • Year-Over-Year Core: 2.5%, down from 2.6% in December, matching 2.5% expectations.
  • Month-to-Month: 0.2%, down from 0.3% in December and below 0.3% expectations.
  • Month-to-Month Core: 0.3%, up from 0.2% in December and matching 0.3% expectations.

The index for shelter rose 0.2% in January and was the largest factor in the all-items monthly increase. The food index increased 0.2% over the month as did the food at home index, while the food away from home index rose 0.1%. These increases were partially offset by the index for energy, which fell 1.5% in January.

The energy index decreased 0.1% for the 12 months ending January. The food index increased 2.9% over the last year.

The impact of President Trump’s tariff policies “has been less than initially feared,” providing “relief to those concerned about how sticky price pressures may prove to be,” The New York Times reports.

“We’re just not seeing the pass-along” tariff-fueled cost increases expected, “Maybe, we’re past that,” according to CNBC:

Four of the individuals arrested are believed to be human smugglers, and 19 are Mexican nationals, the agency reported.

Border Patrol agents spotted a vehicle on Jan. 31 in the El Centro Sector of the US border with Mexico, which they believed was being used for smuggling activity.

An investigation led agents to an apartment complex in Seeley, California, about 100 miles east of San Diego, where they saw individuals being transferred between vehicles.

Seven individuals attempted to flee the scene when agents approached, but officials pursued them. In addition to the 23 arrests, federal agents seized six vehicles that are connected to the investigation… Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

…According to biology, sex is not a subjective sense of self but an objective scientific reality, established by an individual’s chromosomes from their earliest moments of existence and reflected by hundreds of genetically-based characteristics.

(Indianapolis, IN) — [LifeSiteNews.com] As of February 12, the state of Indiana is no longer allowing residents to change the gender listed on their drivers’ licenses or state-issued identification, in the latest rejection of gender ideology in favor of objective biological reality. (Screengrab image: via Fox59)

On the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ (BMV’s) web page for amending drivers’ licenses and ID cards, an orange notice reads, “Effective Feb. 12, 2026, the BMV will no longer provide customers with the option to change their gender on their Indiana credential by using a court ordered gender change or physician statement per Amended Rule 140 Indiana Administrative Code section 7-1.1-3.”

Indiana Public Radio reports that the notice finalizes a rule change the BMV initiated last June, over the protests of LGBT activists. It followed an executive order Republican Gov. Mike Braun signed last March to align state policies pertaining to sex and gender with a biology-based understanding.

“The BMV considered all of the public comments submitted on this matter and made the most appropriate decision in order to execute Governor Braun’s Executive Order 25-36 properly,” said BMV spokesperson Greg Dunn. “The BMV follows court orders in cases in which it has been made a party. The court orders described in this rule are court orders in cases in which the BMV has not been made a party.”

“…Heroes come in all forms.”

(Louisville, KY) — [Breaking Christian News] When a 3-year-old toddler went missing last month, over “half a dozen officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded,” according to a CBS Evening News report. (Screengrab image: via WLKY-CBS)

The search included drones and a helicopter, as well as on foot, to no avail, until an unlikely source on four legs brought a lead.

“As I’m walking to the front, the craziest thing happened. There’s a dog,” officer Josh Thompson said, in the CBS News report.

“It would bark at me to tell me to hurry up. It led me all the way to the backyard. At that point I’m thinking, OK, this kid’s in the backyard.”

The dog—which resembled an Australian Shepherd or Sheltie—continued barking at the officer, checking back to make sure he was following. (Screengrab image: via WLKY-CBS)

He led him to the “back bumper” of an SUV parked in the driveway, and there—locked inside the car—was the little boy.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a happier kid in my life. He jumped out of the car, bear hugged my neck and wouldn’t let go,” Thompson said.

Officer Thompson notes, “I don’t know where the dog came from, but it was a blessing from God that day.”

According to the CBS News video report, Officer Thompson had been patrolling the neighborhood for two years prior to the incident, but had never seen that dog before, or since that day! (Screengrab image: via WLKY-CBS)

The report says the Louisville Metro Police Department gave credit to the unofficial K-9 “four-legged friend, who reminded us that heroes come in all forms.”

Update:

In a subsequent video report by WLKY CBS News, the hero dog turned out to be a sort of community fixture affectionately known as “Louisville’s Lassie.”

A viral video clip from WLKY noted, “According to the neighbors, the dog does have a home, and on warm days he wanders the neighborhood in a place where everyone knows him, and now, no one will forget him.” Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

“…The Bible teaches: ‘In all circumstances give thanks.’ As such, it is fitting that we mark this special year as a unique occasion to celebrate our proud history, reflect on our abundant blessings, pray for our country and our people, and rededicate ourselves as one Nation under God…” -President Donald J Trump, from the proclamation

Last week, at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Trump stood on stage and issued an official proclamation declaring 2026 a “Year of Celebration and Rededication.”

This statement filled me with such joy and excitement for being part of a country that is determined to rededicate itself to the One who made and saved us and the One whose Word our nation was founded upon. 250 years later, and our President is not only celebrating our nation but recognizing at whose hand we have relied upon for its success and longevity—and giving thanks. I applaud President Trump for being bold in his words and actions around this concept.

The call to rededicate our nation “under God” resonates deeply with intercessors who understand that America’s moral strength has always depended on acknowledging the sovereignty of the Almighty; that our nation is fundamentally built on the model of God’s Word and the grace and mercy of our Redeemer.

1 Thessalonians teaches, “In all circumstances give thanks.”  This command invites us to celebrate our proud history as Americans, reflect on God’s abundant blessings, pray for our country and our people, and renew our commitment to walk as one nation under God.

This is especially relevant in today’s America, where divisiveness is everywhere, where the smallest things become the biggest political minefields. We live in an age where the enemy truly prowls like a lion around our holy places, waiting for the opportunity to strike.

Now is the time to give thanks, now is the time to be grateful to our Father.

Gratitude for believers is not passive; it shapes the humility and courage needed to sustain a righteous cause.

Our founders understood this concept well and applied it. Just weeks before declaring independence, the Second Continental Congress ordered a day of “fasting, humiliation and prayer,” asking God to pardon “all our manifold sins and transgressions” and to “establish the peace and freedom of America upon a solid and lasting foundation.”

Later, in the very heart of the Revolutionary War, they declared it “the indispensable duty of all men to adore the superintending providence of Almighty God.”

Their appeals were not ceremonial—they sprang from a belief that national survival depended on divine guidance.

Today, that same truth endures. Human dignity, liberty, and purpose originate not in government but in God. The goodness of our cause relies on aligning ourselves with His will. As we reflect on this sacred moment, we recommit ourselves to prayer, thanksgiving, and faithful stewardship—for the sake of our nation and the unborn generations whose futures rest in our hands.

Let’s all unite in prayer that God would do a great work in our country as we join our President in rededicating our nation to the Lord.

Read the proclamation the President made below, and pray that God would be glorified and that our nation would be spiritually invigorated by rededicating our nation to “the laws of nature and nature’s God.” (Image: iStock-flySnow)

On January 1, 2026, the United States began our year-long commemoration of an important milestone in the history of our country: 250 years of American freedom and independence.

Two and a half centuries ago, on July 4, 1776, thousands of years’ worth of wisdom, philosophy, and culture were brought together in Philadelphia where delegates to the Second Continental Congress gathered to declare the birth of a new nation—”conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal”—and, in so doing, launched the single greatest force for goodness, justice, prosperity, and human flourishing the world has ever known.

As we celebrate the 250th year since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we acknowledge with gratitude and pride that July 4, 1776, represents the most seminal political event in all of human history.

Unlike other nations, America’s Founding was rooted in the belief that every man, woman, and child is “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

This conviction, enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, and indelibly etched upon every American heart, remains the bedrock of our government and the crown jewel of Western civilization. For 250 years, the burning flame of liberty has been passed down from one generation to the next, and has carried our Nation and our people to heights that our Founding Fathers could have never dreamed.

Guided by the example of Founding Fathers like George Washington, John Adams, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, and other American patriots who helped light the torch of liberty in 1776, let us ask our Creator to bless America, free our Nation and our people from all threats to our safety and happiness, and to guide our actions for the security and common good of all Americans.

This year, we honor and cherish the generations of pioneers, warriors, statesmen, preachers, inventors, risk-takers, workers, and heroes whose unwavering commitment to the promise of freedom gave rise to the greatest Republic ever created. Today and throughout this year, I call on every American to celebrate this triumph of the American spirit, and to rededicate themselves to the sacred cause of liberty and justice for all.

The Bible teaches: “In all circumstances give thanks.” As such, it is fitting that we mark this special year as a unique occasion to celebrate our proud history, reflect on our abundant blessings, pray for our country and our people, and rededicate ourselves as one Nation under God.

From the earliest days of our national story, reflection and thanksgiving have been central to our character, identity, and destiny. Just weeks before declaring independence, the Second Continental Congress ordered a day of “fasting, humiliation and prayer,” petitioning God “to pardon all our manifold sins and transgressions” and to “establish the peace and freedom of America, upon a solid and lasting foundation.” Later, in the heart of the Revolutionary War, the Second Continental Congress declared it “the indispensable duty of all men to adore the superintending providence of Almighty God.”

In the sweltering summer of 1776, the promise of Freedom moved our ancestors to break with a tyrannical empire, issue the Declaration of Independence, and go on to overcome every hardship to establish a Republic like no other. It is this unwavering spirit of courage, faith and patriotism that propelled Paul Revere on his famous midnight ride, and that later inspired some of the world’s greatest men to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to build a new nation. It is this spirit that led General George Washington to persevere at Valley Forge; inspired Davy Crockett to make his last stand at the Alamo; sustained settlers on the Oregon Trail; held the bloody ridges of Gettysburg; set slavery on a path to worldwide extinction; roused a generation of young men to conquer tyranny and communism overseas; and carried our beautiful Stars and Stripes to the face of the moon. To this very day, it is this American spirit that lives on in the hearts, minds, and souls of every patriot—and inspires every new generation of American citizens to reach further and aim higher.

When the Second Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, General George Washington issued General Orders to his army. In words that have echoed throughout history, he wrote: “The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army… Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions.”

Today, too, we pray that our noble cause continues to be guided by the hand of providence and the grace of God—and that the fire of freedom will forever burn brightly in the heart of every American. Above all, this year, we pray and endeavor that the triumph of the American spirit and the glorious truths expressed in our Declaration of Independence will shine more radiantly than ever before.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim 2026 as a Year of Celebration and Rededication. I call on every American to reflect upon and celebrate the wisdom and deeds of the heroes of our Founding who made the miracle of America possible. I call on parents to teach their children about America’s inspiring history, heritage, and heroes. I invite the world to come to our shores to experience the splendor, warmth, and hospitality of America. And I encourage all Americans—including businesses, churches, families, and the military—to observe this year, reflecting on the blessings our Nation has received, with appropriate programs, ceremonies, concerts, celebrations, and activities in their homes, schools, work, communities, military bases, and houses of worship.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
