FAITH BEYOND MEASURE – Ron McGatlin

Our world without God is a world without love. Without love, the world is fragmented and generally dysfunctional. The love of God in Christ in His people on earth is increasing in number and in potency. The potential for the world is growing as God’s love invades the hearts of His people. Supernatural faith is flowing from heaven, pouring into God’s people of love.

Each believer is given a measure of faith by grace, according to our God-given calling. A somewhat different amount and application of faith are needed to accomplish each calling or work in the kingdom of God’s rule on earth.

God does not give each person the same measure or the same focus of faith. He gives us the measure of faith we need to accomplish our assignment at the time. We do not need the same faith in every situation or season.

We can cause ourselves difficulties and frustration by trying to have faith like someone with a different calling or work. We may think more highly than we ought to and try to have faith like someone else who has a different calling, and thereby a different measure and focus of faith.  

Romans 12:3-8, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”

FAITH WORKS BY LOVE

Galatains 5:6, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith works by love.”

1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

As we walk in love with Spirit God, we have faith for every occasion or season of our lives. In an emergency situation, God can give us a burst of faith to accomplish things we usually would not even have the faith to try.

If, for an extended season of our life, we are called to do an extraordinary and dangerous work for God, we will be given extreme faith to accomplish the assignment. Sometime later, after the extreme faith is no longer needed, we may look back with amazement at how we were able to have the faith to accomplish those things.

THE FAITH OF CHRIST JESUS ON EARTH

The people of God on earth are collectively the Body of Christ on earth.

Through a personal love relationship with God in Christ, our faith is received from heaven.

By love with one another, our given calling and parts fit together to bring forth the whole calling and faith of the life of Christ Jesus on earth now.

Alone, we are incomplete. Our faith and calling alone can never fulfill or complete the kingdom of God on earth. Together, we are the living Body of Christ on earth. Alone, we are only a member that must fit together with the other parts to complete the Body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:27, “Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.”

1 Corinthians 12:12-14. “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.”

This is all a Holy Spirit function of love. It is Spirit God in His people on earth, working with us, establishing the kingdom of God on earth. Thus, bringing forth the way of love and truth in this world. All facets of life on earth will again prosper and regain their proper place as part of all created life.

THE LIVING BODY OF CHRIST

The body of Christ on earth is a living, growing, and changing Spirit-Body.  Fully assembled with all parts functioning, all joined together under one head, Christ Jesus, Lord and King on earth, establishing the glorious kingdom of God and heaven on earth.

The glory of God is fully displayed in the whole earth. Nothing defiles the glorious light and beauty of God in a living, created world in perfect order. The sound of music beyond description flows from the generations of God’s beautiful people in glory beyond description. Truly unspeakable joy fills the world and its atmosphere as a glorious testimony of love to all creation beyond any human comprehension.

Our hearts explode with overwhelming, all-consuming love from above in the new heavenly world reality of heaven on earth.

THE SPIRITUAL REALITY OF THE KINGDOM WITHIN

As I lean back a bit in my recliner in a warm room on a cool breezy fall day, communing with God and writing some of what He is flowing into my heart, I am consumed and filled with the kingdom of love. The kingdom of God must be experienced within us, the collective body of Christ on earth, before it manifests in this world.

There is no substitute for the reality of the fullness of God with us. Many counterfeits fill hearts and lives, replacing the fullness of Spirit God within. These substitute realities fill God’s place within us, replacing our time of communing with God in love.

Good things of life can become ungodly and a form of resistance against communing with God. TV and cell phones come to mind. They are excellent tools, yet they can replace our communion with God in Spirit, as we connect with whatever is coming forth on them. Our mindset can change as we receive and participate in whatever someone is saying or presenting.

Literally, much the same as communing with God lifts us to higher heavenly wisdom and truth of the glorious kingdom of God, these tools can lower our life views and standards to idle words and eventually to the darkness of life without God.

Education and business are wonderful things and significant aspects of life worldwide, yet done without God, they can also prevent a life of communion with God in love.

Sports, especially football, baseball, basketball, and a multitude of video games, can be strong replacements for communing with God in pure love. The continual communion with God in love produces wisdom and power to live as the temple of God and the body of Christ, bringing forth the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.

EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIVES UNDER GOD’S LOVING GUIDANCE

With God, all things are possible. Communing in love with God is perfect freedom and peace, as all things we desire are added to us. In love with God, His desires become our heart’s desire. There are no frustrating, unfulfilled wants or desires in our lives. We do not want anything except what God wants for us. (John 15:7, Matthew 6:32-33).

Our production in serving God by serving His people is multiplied to the limits of His desires. Our imagination or vision grows in accordance with His desire. In other words, our old, limited thinking no longer limits the quality or quantity of the service we accomplish in our lives for His people and His world. (Mark 11:23-24)

God does not respond well to our ungodly desires for more and greater things or accomplishments to consume for our pleasure. (James 4:3).

John 14:12, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Matthew 19:26, “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’”

By faith, we know that the world was made by the word of God. The things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Have Faith in God, and experience the kingdom of God.
