President Trump on Monday told reporters that he is “100%” willing to designate Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination last week.

“I think it would start with Pam [Bondi],” Trump said.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was assassinated by a leftwing terrorist, later identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, during a speaking event at Utah Valley University last Wednesday. The shooter was revealed by law enforcement to have engraved his ammunition casings with Antifa and transgender slogans.

The FBI is investigating the possibility that dozens of Discord users may have had knowledge about the planned murder of Charlie Kirk before it happened.

Kirk, the head of campus outreach group Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10 while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University. Two days later, authorities apprehended and accused 22-year-old Robinson of the shooting and detailed how he was motivated by his view of Kirk as “hateful.” Robinson was in a romantic relationship with his male roommate, who is in the process of “transitioning” to female.

On Monday, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino told Newsmax host Rob Schmitt that investigators are looking at a chat room on the platform Discord in which Robinson participated and a “potential broader network of people who may have known” what he was planning. He cautioned that the investigation was still in the early stages, and were not yet certain of who knew what when.

…Nexstar’s broadcasting division president, Andrew Alford, had criticized Kimmel’s accusations about Kirk’s death as being “offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse.”

The network made the move after the Nexstar Media Group, which owns and operates a large number of individual ABC affiliate stations, announced it would block “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from airing indefinitely.

Kimmel had declared on TV that the assassin who murdered Charlie Kirk was a member of “the MAGA gang”—a claim which investigators have refuted by revealing evidence they’ve uncovered about the primary suspect.

Kimmel also claimed this week that “many in MAGA land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr called the comments “truly sick,” contending that Kimmel was spreading misinformation.

Carr said the FCC has a strong case for holding Kimmel, ABC, and network parent Walt Disney Co. accountable for what appeared to be an intentional effort to mislead the public.

“This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney,” Carr said on the Benny Johnson podcast. “We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”

One FCC Commissioner, Anna Gomez, is protesting the move, accusing the administration of “using the weight of government power to suppress lawful expression.”

But Nexstar’s broadcasting division president, Andrew Alford, had criticized Kimmel’s accusations about Kirk’s death as being “offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse.”

Much like the now-fired CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert, Kimmel’s ABC show often veered into anti-Trump political commentary.

AP reports that a spokesperson for Kimmel did not immediately return a call for comment. And there was no immediate comment from Kimmel, whose contract was already set to end in May 2026.

We’re on cable right now. Fox News doesn’t have an FCC license, CNN doesn’t. But ABC, CBS, NBC, those broadcast stations do. And with that license comes a unique obligation to operate in the public interest. And over the years, the FCC walked away from enforcing that public interest obligation. I don’t think we’re better off as a country for it. But look, President Trump ran directly at these legacy broadcast outlets and he exposed them to these market forces, and a lot of these affiliate groups said, to your point, ‘We’re tired of carrying this stuff.’ Late night shows, something’s gone seriously awry there. They went from going from laugh lines to applause lines, from being court jesters that would make fun of everybody in power to being court clerics enforcing a very narrow political ideology. And Nexstar, as you noted, stood up and said, look, we have the license and we don’t want to run this anymore; we don’t think it serves the interest of our community. [RedState.com] Christian author Frank Turek, who was standing beside Charlie Kirk when he was assassinated and was in the SUV with him on the way to the hospital, shared some heartbreaking details on his podcast Wednesday. Turek will be speaking at Sunday’s memorial service, and said that Charlie’s wife, Erika, asked him to relate the story then as well. Holding back tears, Turek described the chaotic moments after Charlie was shot, as he and the security team got Charlie to the SUV to speed to the hospital, starting with why he jumped in the vehicle: “This is going to be the hard part, but maybe also the comforting part.
