“Prepare for ‘Suddenly’ Answered Prayers”
Kim Potter, Dayton, Tennessee

I am once again hearing the word “prepare” in my spirit. However, it is not the same kind of “prepare” as it was before. I don’t believe God is talking about preparing for something challenging that is about to happen – no, I believe it is the opposite.

Faithful in Times of Plenty

What would you do if the prayers you have been praying for months, or years – the desires of your heart – were suddenly answered?

If you have been found faithful in times of lack, will you continue to be faithful in times of plenty? Are you prepared to handle plenty? Many people cry out to God in times of lack. However, when God begins to bless them, they often forget where they were and how God brought them to an abundant place. Don’t let that be you. (Photo via Unsplash)

Deuteronomy 8:11-17 warns us of forgetting God when He brings us out of times of lack:

“Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest – when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end – then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.'”

Have you stood in faith for healing? Have you cried out to God day and night, confessing His Word over your body or the body of a loved one? Will you continue to spend quality time with God when that healing is manifested? Will you need Him as much then as you do now?

The Place of the Miraculous

I believe God is taking us to a place of the miraculous. I believe we will see the goodness of God poured out to such a degree that it will astound us. Are we ready for that? I believe many people who have been in lack are about to walk in prosperity like they have never known. Are we prepared for that?

It is easy to trust God when you need finances, because you have no place else to turn. He is your only hope. But, when you are walking in plenty, when abundance hits your checking account, will you still cry out to God? When you don’t need Him as much, will you still seek His face? These are the questions that have been running through my mind lately.

We have learned to live in the challenges of lack and need. We have become accustomed to living a life according to the Word of God. If we have a need, most of us sow a seed and pray for a harvest. We honor God with our tithe, and He is about to fulfill His Word and pour out a blessing we cannot contain. What will we do with that blessing? It’s easy to tithe off of $100, but what if you are to tithe off of a million dollars…will that be as easy? Will you be quick to obey? (Photo via Unsplash)

Prepare for the Good Things

Are we prepared for wealth? Are we ready for divine health? Are we prepared for the prodigals to come in? Are we ready to see a manifestation of all God has promised to come to pass in our lives? Most people would shout, “Yes, we are ready!” But I have learned from experience, I am not always prepared for the things – even the good things – God brings my way. This time He is saying, “Prepare!”

Prepare; get ready. For the Lord is coming and His reward is with Him. Prepare ye the way of the Lord. Stay humble. Humility is key – stay humble. Stay smack dab in the middle of humility. Seek Him more than ever. Press into Him like never before. It’s not about the breakthrough that is undoubtedly coming – it’s all about Him and His presence. Never, ever forget that. Whatever goodness He pours out on you this year, remember Him.

It’s all about Him.
