“In One Accord” Keith Chadwell, 2017
Can we catch the “vision” and rekindle the hope of our calling for the Church or a remnant of it, to return to “one accord” under God? Is there hope that we might, once again, see the manifestation of God’s power to confirm His word and the Unity of His people as we see it in the book of Acts?
I was particularly impressed by the Holy Spirit, years ago, regarding the “unity” of the new Christians which is recorded in the book of Acts. Here we see a number of references to their all being in “ONE ACCORD”. Along with this “one accord”….we also see unique manifestations of the Hand of God in their circumstances as God seems to be <u>confirming and approving</u> <u>their Unity and His true word</u>. Here is one “for-instance” from Acts 4:
Act 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with <u>one accord,</u> and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:” …(and so they prayed and then we see in verse 31)… “And when they had prayed, t<u>he place was shaken where they were</u> <u>assembled together</u>; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
I won’t even ask…..when the last time you have seen that happen in any of our Christian churches or Fellowships. (Continue reading)
