Despise Not Small Beginnings

Many of you are about to give up because you have been believing God for something specific for such a long time and you haven't seen it manifest yet in the natural. The Lord gave me this analogy of two trees. Two seeds were planted at the same time for two different trees. The first was a cherry blossom tree seed and the other was a sequoia tree seed. They both had the same care as they both received the same amount of sunlight and water. The cherry blossom tree grew quickly and flourished beautifully with brilliant pink flowers and bright green leaves, but the seed of the sequoia tree seemed to be taking a long time to come up. As time went on the cherry blossom tree continued to grow and thrive but the sequoia tree didn't look as if it was going to amount to anything. After some time a small sprout began to emerge from the ground and the sequoia tree began to grow to an extreme height towering over the cherry blossom tree. The reason why the sequoia tree took longer to grow was because it required stronger and deeper roots which were going deep into the earth to support it's huge size. Neither tree was insignificant but served their purpose, and even though the cherry blossom tree was beautiful to the eye,  the sequoia tree grew to be the tallest and strongest tree in the world.

The Lord says, don't give up on your vision. What I have begun in you I will complete. The seed that I have planted inside of you will surely come into fruition and you shall become all that I have called you to be. Don't allow discouragement from delay to throw you off the course that you were once on. I will complete all that I have called you to do. Don't despise the day of small beginnings and don't compare yourself to others. Every one is significant in my sight and each of you are designed uniquely with a divine and particular purpose. Don't try to imitate someone else but be free to be the person that I have called you to be. I have made a Covenant with you and I will keep My word. Continue to contend for all that I have for you. Don't get weary along the journey and don't lose your vision. Never lose sight to your purpose and what you were created to do. Don't look back or you will get off course to where you are going. Your mistakes of the past will not cancel out my plans for your future as you continue to go forward. Follow after peace and don't be upset when there are detours or delays. Delay is not denial. Rejoice in Me and don't despise the place where you are now because your best days are ahead as you follow the narrow path that I have laid out for you says the Lord.

Zechariah 4:10
For who has despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plumbline in the hand of Zerubbabel; these seven are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Mark 4:26 -29
And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."

James 5:7 -8
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Hi Karen
Yes- Despise not small beginnings. Everyone wants to start out on top but a baby has to learn how to crawl before it could walk just as a tree has to start out as a seed.
Read Ecclesiastes chapter 3
There is a time and a season for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time.
Blessings to you!

Thanks for scripture he has made everything beautiful in
his time.
My husband had a dream the other night that went
along with the scriptures you gave.He dreamed he had a
bag of seeds he was throwing out onto the ground. We have
interpreted that to be the word of God.He said he saw
myself in the dream with a sickle swinging it back and
forth over grain. He said he saw some thick clouds
gathering and told me to get in the house. He said I told
him no the storms are going to make the ground more
pliable.I see that as men's hearts towards God will
soften when the storms come and they are coming. The
harvest is about to be ripe until then I will be patient.

Wow awesome dream! Yes you sure do need the rain for the seeds to grow. The storms could also represent Holy Spirit. The bible says that the Lord dwells in the dark clouds. Those are the heavy rain clouds.

1 Kings 8:12
Then Solomon spoke:
“The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.

That's a good scripture.I have never read that that the
Lord dwells in the dark cloud.I was meditating on the
scriptures you gave and thought rain could also mean the
same rain that is stated in James 5:7-8.

I was just reading in Joel 2 in how the day of the Lord
upon the disobedient is darkness and gloominess and a day
of clouds and thick darkness but on the obedient it will be
as morning spread upon a mountain a great people and a
strong there hath never been the like.Praise his name.

Yes well that is the way that it is. We are in Covenant. He are hidden in the secret place. Psalm 91 talks all about us.
Jesus is awesome!

Doing Our Part

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead
our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through
the blood of the everlasting covenant, make your perfect
in every good work to do his will, working in you that
which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus
Hebrews 13:20-21

Have you ever seen a tree grow? Well, probably not on a
moment by moment basis, but you can certainly mark the
growth difference from year to year. That tree, when it
is just a sapling, doesn’t spend time worrying if it will
ever be more than just a sapling. ‘Saplinghood’ is merely
a phase in its maturity process.

A Christian goes through growth cycles as well. As Hannah
Whitall Smith pointed out, God is doing the work. Our
part is to trust Him to complete it.

The maturity of a Christian experience cannot be reached
in a moment. It is the result of the work of God’s Holy
Spirit, who, by His energizing and transforming power,
causes us to grow up into Christ in all things. And we
cannot hope to reach this maturity in any other way than
by yielding ourselves up utterly and willingly, to His
mighty working.

The little babe may be all that a babe could be, or ought
to be, and may therefore perfectly please its mother; and
yet it is very far from being what that mother would wish
it to be when the years of maturity shall come.

God’s works are perfect in every stage of their growth.
By an act of faith we put ourselves into the hands of the
Lord, for Him to work in us all the good pleasure of His
will, and then, by a continuous exercise of faith, keep
ourselves there. Our part is the trusting; it is His to
accomplish the results.

Don’t look at your life right now and declare, “I’ll
never be what God wants me to be.” Chances are, you’re on
your way. He will make sure you get there if you do your

I love yours and Steve's article.
God is so faithful to finish the work he started.I like
the quote from Hannah Whitall."God is doing the work. Our
part is to trust Him to complete it."

Yes what He authored He will finish. He is the author and finisher of our faith. We can not empower ourselves except to keep our faith in Him as the potter to mold us into living vessles of honor. So keep the faith and look up - you'll see now that the King is coming. He has come into our lives and dwells in us.
