In order to throw off that yoke of Islam, there needed to be a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit, that the gates of Hell could not stand. It can only be the Holy Spirit that binds the Prince of Arabia, the god of war, god of the desert. It can only be Holy Spirit that speaks to men in their inner most being.
The spiritual bondage of Islam is being made known to those of us with eyes to see. It must be broken in order to take back the land. Islam comes with very powerful spiritual chains of fear and intimidation and blindness. One hundred years of colonialism and missionary work could not break these chains, but 10 years of revival has done it!!!
After being in West Africa (Mali), I fully realize the nature of the fight. Lord, we need you. We need your wisdom, your power, your guidance. May Uganda be the lighthouse to the nations that you have spoken!!! May it never be said that we had no faith that the world can change.
Mission Journey to East Africa Jan & Feb 2006
We begin a new journey to East Africa on 31 December. This will be a 9 week journey to Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, a total of 6 different cities. We will return by March 2nd.
I ask you for your prayers. They are necessary to our success. We will be ministering twice per day for most of the 60 days, with 4 hour classes each morning and a crusade each evening. My wife, Julie, saw the schedule and expressed concern for my health. A prophet (Gene Bacon) who has spoken into my life on many occasions expressed his concern also.
Without the Glorious Presence of our God, the teaching will not accomplish what is was sent to do and the crusades will be fine, but not powerful. Without proper rest, my health could be in danger. Therefore, I need God's wisdom and insight and power. Please pray for me and the team daily.
In the past, we have conducted 5 major conferences in 3 different cities. Each was well attended and God demonstrated His desire for the people, bringing healing and wholeness and deliverance and salvation. The cost is very great, but as many as 1000 people per conference were mightily blessed.
Our prophetic purpose in going to East Africa, however, was to do our part to disciple the nation! Jesus said all power and all authority has been given to and through Him for such a purpose. We have been so grateful for those whom God has given to us and seek each day to be faithful to them. May we say "none that you have given me has been lost".
It is they who will take His Glorious Presence to the nations, it is they who will turn the nations to God. Our role, as a westerner, is very limited, for we are a product of our culture. We can only bring to them what God has given to us. God will raise them up and they will speak more effectively than I will ever be able to.
My excitement in Mali was how Alex was speaking directly into the culture in a way I would never be able to do. He addressed concerns that most Westerners will ever hear or be made aware of. He took what he received through the ATK ministry and applied it.
We will be conducting ATK Bible Classes in each city for 4 hours each day. One week will be 2 college credit hours and two weeks will be 4. We will then be conducting Crusade meetings each evening in market places and villages.
Our bible classes will be on either the Kingdom of Heaven as seen through the parables of Jesus or the parables of Luke 15-17 which, when brought to light through the eyes of the Second Temple Judaism of Jesus day, bring such life to community relations. This is the portion that I believe God has given to me specifically for the African Church.
My friend, David Cranfill, will be joining with me for the first two weeks. He has paid for most of the first conference in Arusha. We will then travel to Kakira, Uganda. Some of you may remember Source Village, where God did so many miracles through the ATK ministry last November. David sponsored the construction of the first church ever in Source Village. We will be dedicating that church on 10 January. This will be his second trip to Africa.
Then, my friend Carl Burkhead will be joining me for 3 weeks, ministering in the cities of Jinja, Uganda; Kitale, Kenya; and Bungoma, Kenya. He will be leading the discussion portion of each teaching as well as becoming a great crusade healing evangelist!! Carl is a retired professor of engineering at Kansas University and a former elder of our church in Lawrence - The Mustard Seed. We will have a wonderful time together.
Janet Museveni, the first lady of Uganda, has prophesied that the Ugandans would carry His Glorious Presence to the nations that surround her. Before that can happen, however, the purposes for which God calls a people for himself must be broadened.
God calls a people unto Himself so that they would become the Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a special treasure set apart for His use only. This people administer the grace of God in its various forms. It is they who bring His gifts from heaven to the people needing them. They are the ones to carry His Glorious Presence, and found that they can impart it to bring life to the lifeless, joy to the joyless, hope to the hopeless.

Topic: Discipling Uganda After Islam
Uganda is the only nation to throw off the yoke of Islam. Idi Amin was forcibly bringing Islam to the country. The Christians prayed and worshipped with such an intensity that is seldom seen in any country. God intervened and the evil dictator was thrown out. Beginning in the late 1980's, the rise of the Born Agains has been changing the country very rapidly. The hope and the peace and the wisdom of God has been revolutionizing the way the people think and act. Islam has, for the most part, been defeated. We pray it will never rise again.
Now, will the nation be discipled into the deeper things of God? The walking as a comrade or partner with Holy Spirit, the tasting of the powers of the Age to Come, the tasting of the Goodness of the Word of God, the deeper things of Hebrews chapter 6; these are the things needed in this day. The people become the Royal Priesthood. They become Sons of the Most High God as they begin to reflect His character and purposes in their lives.
