It’s really not difficult to see the significance of works of power in the ministry of Jesus and His Apostles. Yet, most people don’t envision the same implications for Christians today.

Christians have no trouble with the idea that the Kingdom of God was breaking in during the first century, but struggle with something similar transpiring in their present-day lives.

Are modern day believers truly excluded from the inexplicable realms of glory?

In one of His final declarations, Jesus said,

“These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name …They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” (Mark 16:17a, 18b)

This astounding promise wasn’t just made to the “twelve” or even the “seventy.” In fact, it wasn’t even confined to Christians in the first century. Jesus made this astounding commitment to all who believe. Thus, this amazing invitation includes you and me.

Since all are welcome to participate, we must rethink humanity’s role in God’s Kingdom. What if I told you that you were made for so much more?
